Making memories in the most literal form!
I love Facebook. To those who know me this will come as absolutely no surprise! Trying to work out how much time I’ve spent updating it over the years is about as possible as working out how many zeros go on a billion.
Apart from keeping in touch with old friends what I love the most is finding something new, that otherwise you may never have encountered.
Last year when I started looking into getting our first Wedding Bell up and running I spent vast amounts of hours scouring Facebook for wedding fairs. And one name just kept coming up.
Bijou Junkie with all these wonderful pictures of handmade vintage jewellery!!
Now I’m not one for jewellery normally. For no other reason that within 30 minutes it’s annoying and has to come off. Up until I bought one of her bracelets I’d never worn a one for a whole evening out (true fact!). But when I look at what she’s made I drool.
And having met her she’s just as lovely as the jewellery she creates.
Amanda (Bijou Junkie herself) runs hen party packages, and it got me thinking. Bell tents and bunting definitely put the glamorous in camping, but what if you could return home from a weekend away – with your own piece of vintage jewellery?
That’s taking glamping to a whole new level!!
Amanda has been making bespoke jewellery for brides since last year, from stunning hair combs through to necklaces. And as a hen group you can book her to come along to your party (yes in a tent!) and she will show you how to turn something you’d ditched at the back of your jewellery box, or granny’s old necklace into something new.
Up cycled, reclaimed and re loved. But with a new, modern twist.
I want to say how much more hip and on trend could you get, but I actually think she’s setting them herself!
You’ve got a choice as a hen group: Make your own individual pieces so the bridal party all have something stunning and unique to wear on the big day. Or pitch in and make the bride something as a gift.
I absolutely love the idea of returning from your girls’ weekend away together, relaxed and happy, with lots of pictures AND something tangible to keep.
Packages range from £38 per person to £56 and depending on the package you choose you can have bubbly, wine, retro sweets and cupcakes thrown in!
A minimum of 6 people are needed and if 10 or more book for a Bijou Junkie hen party the bride goes free!!
We’ve had hen parties in the past that have hired an extra tent as a communal lounge for the weekend. If we know Amanda is coming to entertain you, then pull up one of the scatter cushions we include and we’ll put in some extra tables for you to work at!
And if the budget doesn’t stretch to an extra tent no problem either, just move your beds out of the way for the 3 to 4 hours she’ll be with you and utilise the tent you already have!
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue – now there’s the challenge!
